What was the first book you’ve read?
*I can’t remember the first MM title I read, actually. I know I was recommended Strawberries for Dessert by Marie Sexton. But the funny thing is, I gave it a try and actually didn’t like it at first, which is hilarious since now it’s one of my favorite reads.
My first two MM authors I got into were Marie Sexton and KA Mitchell. Both came recommended, but I needed to start at the beginning of their works in order to really get a feel for their writing, and both became favorites of mine. I think w MM stories sometimes you have to warm up to the genre a little. But once you’ve read a few titles, it becomes an obsession.
What is your favorite book?
*I’m not sure I could name one favorite. I like many MM books for different reasons. Certainly Pricks and Pragmatism, Pole Star, Hot Ticket, and Strawberries for Dessert are in my top ten.
What’s your favorite sub-genre/category (paranormal, shifters, cops, suspense, dystopian, BDSM, etc)?
*By far my favorite sub-genre is contemporary. That said, I do like the PsyCop series which is partially sci fi. However those books are more urban fantasy than “romance” per se. For romance, I like contemporary.
Which book would you love to see made into a movie?
*I sound like a movie snob, but I’d hate to see any of my favorite MM books made into a movie by Hollywood. As an indie flick, though? Hmmm…The only MM stories I can imagine as movies are my own. Maybe because I pictured them so much while writing. I could see From the Ashes as a movie, largely because it has fun characters and (I think) you could leave out the sex and the story would still work. :)
Which book do you wish you had written?
*This is another impossible to answer question. Maybe 18% Gray. I’ve often wanted to write a post apocalyptic book set in the northwest.
Who is your book boyfriend?
*I always fall in love with subby guys, or at the very least bottoms. I’d say Luke from Pricks and Pragmatism.
What book are you currently reading or reading next?
*I just finished Psycop 7: Spook Squad the other day, after reading Junk my Josephine Myles. Not sure what I’ll read next. Probably the new JL Merrow (Fall Hard) when it comes out.
I adored Strawberries for Dessert, and then I was SO excited for the sequel…what a great read. I haven’t read your other fave picks….will have to check them out!
