REVIEW: “Come To Me” by Megan Derr

A Black Magic Short

The roles of High Paladin and High Necromancer do not allow for much free time, even less where they might spend it together. When they do finally obtain some time to spend with each other, Sorin and Koray find there are still doubts and fears between them that will take more than time to overcome…

First of all, it is imperative for readers to first read Black Magic prior to this one – because you will get more background about High Paladin Sorin (Paladins are warriors) and High Necromancer Koray; how they met, the injustice and prejudice that Koray was experiencing, and why he felt insecure with his relationship with Sorin.

Come to Me is basically two short slice-of-life stories, about Sorin and Koray’s life in the palace. For Megan Derr’s standard – I have read several of her stories – this had slightly more sex content; although really quite tame (even if it involves rope and tying up activity). However, at the same time, it also feels that there is too much talk than action and I find myself almost screaming “Just get it on, man!” to the both of them *lol*.

I still find it adorable though, maybe because I have soft spot for Derr’s characters, especially the grumpy ones. And Koray is darn adorable.

Recommended if you want to get a glimpse about how Sorin and Koray are doing and if you don’t mind slice-of-life stories.

About Ami

My name is Ami and I'm an Indonesian girl in my mid 30's, living in Jakarta, the capital of Indonesia. I used to do a lot of journal writing in a different website but over the years, I started to lose interest. I am, instead, pretty active in reading and writing opinion in Goodreads. Then I start thinking that maybe I can have a blog in which I write mostly about books or joy of reading or anything related to reading activity, really. So this is what this blog is for ... although, I may be inspired to write off-books topic as well :)
