Boys in our Books Friday Question of the Week!
Each week we’ll ask a question about your reading experience. Our review team will give our answers and we encourage you to join in and comment with your answers as well! Let’s talk about BOOKS! :)
Okay, since I have been so in love with the Great Sin Ink gang in Stories Beneath Our Skin, I will go with them. They all support one another, and ready to lend ears and muscle but also take non-sense if they need to. So I go with each and every one of them. Liam, Ace, Goose, Deb, and Frankie
The first I think of is Stanley from “Deadly Mystery”. He has qualities I respect, such as loyalty and compassion, he has wit and sass, which never fails to charm me, and he is flawed enough to be lovable.
*nods at Tracy*
I don’t mean to be an unimaginative copycat. But.
What she said.
Morgana from Fayjay’s The Student Prince. I’ll be her Baldrick because, oh boy, does this chick kick ass.
I’m going to go with more than one because it’s really hard to piece them out and say Team Sidewinder from the Cut & Run Series.
I mean, not only are they a team of bad ass Ex-Recon Marines but they are funny as all hell! I would love to be in on group texts with that bunch (and Zane of course because he is in one of them now too) and just knowing they could make anyone who messed with me “unfuck their shit.” *nods* Plus, the honest support with life in general they would provide.
Yeah, I want each of those boys as my BFF’s.
Lisa from Jordan Castillo Price PsyCops series. A best friend with the ability to give you a true yes/no answer to anything and everything you ever needed to know? Yes please! Plus she is pretty damn awesome even when she’s not applying her talent. And I’d get to visit her at the cannery with Jacob and Vic, so score!
Ravishan from The Rifter Book One: The Shattered Gates.
He is kind, genuine, loyal to his bones and with a flick of his wrist he could do all sorts of amazing best friend favors!
I would LOVE to be besties with Victor Bayne from the PsyCop series. He’s just so my-kind-of-guy. He’s not irritatingly chipper, nor does he try to be anyone but himself. And he loves greasy hot dogs and has a hot boyfriend (who probably has hot friends). How do you not love that?
I laugh thinking about forcing him to hug me and how much he’d hate it…even though he lurves me as his BFF! :D
I would say Adrien English, but post-Dark Tide AE. With all the mysteries trailing him, I’d probably end up murdered like some of his poor buddies in Fatal Shadows… At least he would have some good books to recommend before my ultimately untimely demise…
Jacqs Glebov from Turbulence.
While it would be great to have a BFF who’s always supportive and willing to back me up in all my endeavors, I also need someone who can say to my face that I’m full of shit. Or to quit whining. And to just shut the fuck up when I’m having one of those days that I’m acting like an ass or feeling wronged due to my own shortcomings.
Jac is probably one of the most honest characters I’ve read about in the M/M genre. There’s no dancing around him, ‘cuz he cuts through all the bullshit with his gruff nature. And sometimes, I need someone who can cut through all my own bullshit. Those are the best kind of friends. :)
