Boys in our Books Friday Question of the Week!
Each week we’ll ask a question about your reading experience. Our review team will give our answers and we encourage you to join in and comment with your answers as well! Let’s talk about BOOKS! :)
I actually wish that some of Nalini Singh’s heroes to be completely gay-for-you; few of those will be “Vasic and Aden” (Psy/Changeling) and “Bluebell and Aodhan” (Guild Hunter). Others say bromance? Well, I say, phoeey, it’s GFY lol
Okay. I pick Clayton from Always to Remember by Lorraine Heath. He’s the brave and silent type, refusing to fight for the Confederacy and staying true to his choice no matter what. I liked him while I hated his gal’s guts (she has her reasons but she’s a stupid harpy) and I’d gladly slash him with a badass in blue uniform.
I *die* at the thought of Jamie Fraser from the Outlander series in a GFY m/m book. Perhaps a hook-up with Lord John from that series?
YES. OMG *fast talking* And.Lord.John.is.already.gay.so.Jamie.will.become gay.for.him…
YES…RIGHT NOW, YES.
*composes self*
I’m going with Jericho Barrons from K.M. Moning’s Fever series.
Despite having about 17 years of M/F romance reading under my belt, this question is a bit of a struggle for me. There are a number of M/F heroes that I like, but can’t seem to separate them from chasing their female counterparts. So I will have to go with a very likeable hero that I never saw as really “chasing” his female heroine. Mr. Knightley. I always thought Mr. Knightley the most dashing of Jane Austen’s men and much too good for Emma. Maybe a little side story between him and Mr. Churchill (or even Mr. Elton) would be fun.
To Jenni – *high five* and I’m gonna piggy back your answer! Can they work that into the TV series… I mean, Starz has shown things sexy like that… mmm hmm.
Ohhh, without a doubt JZB from The Fever Series. Jericho Barrons is the epitome of alpha male. *shivers* If you don’t believe me, you must listen to JZB Alpha Alternative. SO HOT!
I agree with Rachel in that I have a hard time separating my favorite M/F heroes from their heroines. I love so many of Kristen Ashley’s men, but I can’t imagine them…together. So, I’m gonna go with a fairly recent read: West from Robin York’s “Deeper”. He’d be perfect in an angsty YA/NA GFY book. Oh, and speaking of this author, her other pen name, Ruthie Knox, wrote a character named Nev Chamberlain in “About Last Night” that would be yummy too!
Wouldn’t mind a sexy threesome with Zsadist and Qhuinn & Blay either!
This is a tough question since I don’t really read m/f, so I’ll say that it would be interesting to see a bisexual James Bond. Not just for the Bond/Hot-Young-Q fans, but adding a queer lens to the well-traveled Bond mythology would be refreshing. (Yes, I would vote for a Q pairing, partially because Q is adorable, and partially because random Bond Girls don’t always live to see the end of the mission…)
This is a difficult question for me, since a lot of books I read growing up had strong female protagonists as opposed to male characters that stand out. But if I had to choose one, it would be Briar Moss from Tamora Pierce’s Circle of Magic series.
The series starts off with Briar as an adolescent street rat, who later is discovered to have a very rare form of (plant) magic. As the series progresses, we see him become somewhat of a lady’s man (aka: man whore). I would LOVE to see him in a gay-for-you book (I can imagine what his three foster sisters would say to that!).
Practically since I first met them, I’ve wanted Butch, from the BDB series, to go GFY with V! Whoa Mama, that’d be hot!

I’m with you on Butch and V, but without 27 other storylines going on at the same time.

IKR!? She’s been getting carried away with all the side stories in the last couple of books. Hell, Blay and Qhuinn barely had 50% page time IN THEIR OWN DAMNED BOOK!

@Ami – Ohhh, yes! I love Nalini’s heroes. Before HoO, I thought that Judd and Ghost have great chemistry together as well… *nudge, nudge, wink, wink*
@Sherri. I agree with you- Barrons is hotter than a surface of the sun. But you know who I think would fit awesome for this question? Lor from The Nine. :D

I think I’d like what Tracy suggested, just not with Q, I find the thought of those two together very yucky, but a Bond Boy instead of a Babe would be awesome, despite the fate those people have

I mean, Butch and Vishous are basically canon now, right? Well, in my head, they are having hot BDSM sex with each other all the time.
Oh, and because I just read The Windflower, I’ve decided that Cat and Morgan live happily ever after together in a fancy villa on a lush Caribbean island, but maybe before Devon met the heroine, he got in on that action. *ponders* BRB, I’ll be in my bunk…

Iread very little M/F and what I do read is usually lifemated pairings. I wasn’t a romance per se but Kris from the Arrows of Valdemar trilogy would be someone I would love to see be GFY.

I’d like to see Bones and Vlad from the Night Huntress series having angry hate sex.

Bones and Vlad? I am thinking more Bones and Ian… They could have sumthing sumthing on aside before Bones meet Cat *grin*

Lets just be greedy and have Bones, Vlad, Ian three way. That would work for me too.

It YA and FS and the main focus isn’t on the romance. Nonetheless the feelings of all Hereos of Olympus are important. I would love to see Percy Jackson become gay for Nico de Angelo. Nico is gay. He has a huge crush on Percy so this wouldn’t be a problem. But what would happen to Percy’s girlfriend Annabeth? I really love her and want to see her happy too.
