The nurses at Sunny Oaks Rehabilitation Center are having a hard time coping with one of their latest transfers. Calvin Manley is rude, uncooperative, and a general pain in the ass. The only member of their team he seems to tolerate is male nurse Brent Jacobs. With stubborn persistence and a gentle hand, Brent aims to shake Calvin out of his depression and back into the waking world.
While the beginning was really intriguing – it involved a scene of Calvin being trapped under rubble – this was another story whose goodness unfortunately was cut because of its length. I like rude grumpy characters – and Calvin was definitely being one pain in the ass for everybody at Sunny Oaks Rehabilitation Center… except for Brent. The only nurse who seems to be able to get through to him.
The relationship progress seemed to be happening quite fast. Again, I thought it was mainly due to the length – the timeline itself didn’t happen in merely a few days, but some of the details were definitely kept off page. I would love to have the ending extended for few more pages as well.
It was cute story but I wasn’t fully satisfied.
