"Boys in Our Books"…

…we're keeping our name but expanding our offerings!

PIMP MY READ: JULY BOM & Giveaway

“Pimp My Read” (PMR) is the book-of-the-month poll for our blog!  Each reviewer on the ‘Boys in our Books’ team will nominate their ONE FAVORITE read of the month (whether reviewed for the blog or not) and plead this book’s case in TEN WORDS OR LESS.

One book will come out on top as the voter favorite…aka that month’s PIMPED READ. :)  BUT, what’s even better…everyone who votes and then comments on the PMR thread is entered to win ALL the books nominated by our team!  Yes, one winner will get the entire month’s pimped library!

Now, if YOU have a FAVORITE read of the month and it’s not listed here, feel free to NOMINATE your own via the write in option!

So…let’s DO THIS!

It was a toss up between Hell and High Water and another Cochet book, The Auspicious Troubles of Chance.
In the end I went with the action feeling of H&HW.

It was between Hell and High Water and Memorizing You since I have them both ready to read but I went with H&HW since it looks like a lot of fun.

Enjoyed Favorite Son on the first read. This is a rare book I’d read a second time, to savor the spaces between the lines and absorb the subtle emotional shifts.

While I enjoy JCP, I really like the conceit behind Hell and High Water, so that’s why it got my vote.

I loved BLOOD ON THE ICE by Katriena Knights–I’m usually not a vampire buff, but her world-building was brilliant. Her knowledge of hockey really shone through, too–everything seemed so plausible (including the NHL’s institutional bigotry towards vampires). I did wish for more m/m action (some of the book veers dangerously close to het/menage), but the chemistry between Travis and Marc was great.
