REVIEW:

GOOD LAWDDDDDD…that was HOT!  *fans self*

Ok, so…couple things to start. XistentialAngst is the fanfic pen name for author Eli Easton and this story is based on the BBC series Sherlock staring Benedict Cumberbatch and Martin Freeman.  I only recently watched this series and DIED over how FANTASTIC it is and LOVED the relationship between the two characters. It’s a natural progression to ship the two and I wanted to find a QUALITY fanifc story about them. Hallelujah…not only did I find one, but it’s written by one of my favorite authors! Woot!

The author SO PERFECTLY captures Sherlock and John from the series, you’d think she was actually one of the screenwriters. The way she describes their mannerisms, their conversations, their reactions, everything…I could picture it perfectly as an episode of the series. And it was such a treat.

The story goes that John and Sherlock get into an argument over who is better at sex. Sherlock, as he does, comes up an assinine but brilliant competition for them to figure out the answer. In this story we find out that John is straight, but ahoy, Sherlock admits to being gay. So, they choose one woman and one man that they both each have sex with. And to add a twist, the other needs to watch each time. Throw in some actual scorecards and we’re off to the races.

This story has such a perfect blend of erotic, sexual scenes (really gloriously written, by the way) AND palpable sexual tension between John and Sherlock. I felt, buzzing, the entire time. It was intense! Yet even in that intensity, just like in the show, there was a sharp humor to it as well. It is, I repeat, really really impressive how well Easton writes these characters.

If you are of the group of people averse to have any female sexual content in your stories, this one is not for you. There are a couple scenes that include a woman partner. And plenty of scenes with scorching male on male sex. And every single one, no matter what gender, or who the players, was HOT.

But, the pay off at the end? *sigh* SO SO SO SO SO GOOD! :)

I really enjoyed this so much.

Note: I will say, if you haven’t watched the show, you might not appreciate all the details and how well the author captures these exact characters. But, I think it would be a fun, smutty read nonetheless
