Boys in our Books Friday Question of the Week!
Each week we’ll ask a question about your reading experience. Our review team will give our answers and we encourage you to join in and comment with your answers as well! Let’s talk about BOOKS! :)
I typically read in my bed sitting with my pillows propping me up. I like to read whenever I have a free moment, and you can find me sometimes spending the entire weekend in this exact spot. I’ll have my paperwhite in one hand and a mug of coffee in the other. Total bliss.
My three main readings spots, in order are 1) my big comfy recliner 2) the bathtub and 3) the bus/public transportation. For when, it’s whenever I have downtime, and I love a solid block of time to get some relaxed reading done. For how, I pretty much read only on my kindle now. Being low vision, I’m so used to the larger fonts on my ereader, that I feel grouchy when I have to go back to reading physical books. The other part of the how is that my cat normally likes to curl up with me, either on the recliner, or next to the bathtub. :-)
I read….everywhere. My favorite place to read is probably in my tub with a glass of wine. But you can find me with my kindle in hand just about any place….in bed, in my chair, while fixing dinner or folding laundry. I sleep with the silly thing and I buy purses to fit my kindle because I don’t leave my house without it :P
I love to read on my great big armchair with the sunlight streaming behind me and a beverage beside me. By night, I might move to bed with a glass of vino. If I’m out for the night with girlfriends I’ll still manage to read. I’ve been scolded a few times for pulling out my kindle while people are checking on food or tending to things… now I just read off my iphone and just say I’m checking to see if I’ve got messages from home! Where there is a will, there is a way. ;)
I am terrible. I sneak read a lot at work. Thankfully my boss is a reader and gets it. I balance work out by doing xyz and read a chapter but on really slow days, I have been known to read all day. I admit it.
At home, I read in what my boys have named my “tower.” The location of my bedroom is off the 2nd floor landing… when I am in there, they know not to bug me. I get in my bed with a cup of tea, a blanket and my 130lb lap dog and settle into a book. I don’t get much day time reading at home unless we declare it a lazy weekend, it’s usually in bed (before my declared bed time which I am trying to stick to) while my husband watches one of his shows.
I am the odd chick in line at Costco, the grocery store, the doctors office etc. reading. My Nook is with me always, I have anxiety attacks if I don’t have it and am also known to pull my Nook out and read at family functions. It’s been said about me since I was a kid, “Sara wouldn’t be Sara without her nose in a book,” now that book is my Nook. :o)
I make sure that every book I am reading is on my Nook and on my phone. I have drained my Nook’s battery before and finished the book on my phone. I clearly have issues and I think I like to read.
If at home, there is only one place, my comfort place, my own queen size bed with pillows propping me up as well (high five, Susan). Well, sometimes I read on the sofa at the living room, but I love my bed the most. And of course, sometimes I read on public transportation, if I am not asleep that is.
If at the office, well I will read on my PC … pretending like I at least work (haha)
I read wherever (work, car, home, appointments, shopping…) all day long, and I absolutely never go anywhere, ever, without my Kindle; there will ALWAYS be time to read, even if it’s only for a few minutes. I’m naked without that puppy! My favorite place to read is in bed, with the covers tucked over my head. I’m sure I look fantastically weird, but it’s my protective-bubble-reading-special-place, and I love it.
I read in the evening when all is quiet, and I love to curl up on my sofa with a mug of coffee and my Kindle. During the day, I always have it in my bag, and I too have anxiety attacks whenever I forget it at home. I wonder why, I never read at work (but I would if I could) – but what if I had the time to read and I didn’t have it?!! I like to be prepared, that’s my excuse and I’ll stick to it. Like any mum, I am my son’s chauffeur and I read while I’m waiting for him to finish his appointments or activities. I am the mum who doesn’t socialize with the other mums. Oh, and I try to get up earlier so that I can have some bonus time to read.
