Oh, easy …
Dennis Lehane’s “Kenzie and Genarro” series (also Mystic River and Shutter Island)
Michael Connelly “Harry Bosch” series
Robert Crais “Elvis Cole/Joe Pike” series
Chris Carter “Robert Hunter” series
I have a lot of favorites, but the first that sprang to mind are The Joe Leaphorn Mysteries(The Blessing Way / Dance Hall of the Dead / Listening Woman) and The Jim Chee Mysteries (People of Darkness / The Dark Wind / The Ghostway)by Tony Hillerman. Not m/m.
I haven’t hit the gay mystery classics yet like the Dave Brandstetter series by Joseph Hansen. (It’s on the TBR pile!) Some of my fave in the mystery/suspense romance category are Life Lessons by Kaje Harper, the Cole McGinnis series by Rhys Ford, and too many Josh Lanyon titles to name, but I’ll push up This Rought Magic (historical mystery) and the Adrian English series as two of my faves.
I haven’t been a classic mystery reader and have rarely read anything outside of m/m. My favorites are Josh Lanyon, rarely disappoints. And I also love how KJ Charles kind of melds historical with paranormal with mystery in her Charm of the Magpies books.
I can’t say mystery is my favorite genre of fiction. My favorite would be Josh Lanyon’s Adrien English series.
I love Josh Lanyon’s Adrien English and Holmes and Moriarity series. I also enjoy mystery/thrillers like Patricia Cornwell’s Kay Scarpetta series and James Patterson’s Alex Cross books.

I read lots and lots of mysteries. Hmm, Gillian Flynn is probably my current fave. Sharp Objects is her first, and kind of my fave. Mmmm, I’m starting Lisa Gardner who writes romantic suspense/mystery, the Sue Grafton novels are easy mysteries but entertaining, Charlaine Harris writes lots of mystery but her Harper Connolly series is my fave. I’m not a fan at all of James Patterson.
And for mystery/suspense in m/m The Administration alllllll the way.
