"Boys in Our Books"…

…we're keeping our name but expanding our offerings!

QUESTION OF THE WEEK: Recommendations…

Your friend needs a book rec. What do you suggest for:

Sweet: Superhero or Blame It On The Mistletoe by Eli Easton… I am a huge fan of her stories. They are  darn sweet, and make me squee and want to hug people… Hahahaha. If I ever need a pick me up I know that most of her books will do the job.

Sexy: Um…. *thinks for 50 minutes* I think I’d recommend Helping Hand by Jay Northcote. I enjoyed the sexiness in that book a lot, it was a slow build up that wasn’t slow but worked perfectly well. S.E. Jakes’ books tend to be super hot, too. So maybe that.

Tear-Jerker: Memorizing You by Dan Skinner, lovely YA. Second Chances by TA Webb. The amount of tears I shed with those two books should be illegal. Another one that ma me cry a lot was Focus On Me by Megan Erickson, but that was for a very personal reason… Gah! I hate (read: love) when books hit too close home.

Sweet: Gives Light by Rose Christo. Skylar is such a sweet boy and this is such a soothing read. Just lovely.

Sexy: Something by K.A. Mitchel… Let me think… Oh yeah : Bad Boyfriend. Daddy kink, people! Or The Administration series : *gurgling sounds* – *wipes drool*

Tear-Jerker : Take my recs with caution, as It depends on how much you want it to end well… Junction X by Erastes made me bawl, but it is a drama rather  than an actual tear-jerker. Or Infected by Andrea Speed : you’re going to  cry your heart out. This one broke my heart, stomped on the bloody mess, then mended it, gave it back to me only to stab it repeatedly. Great series.

Sweet: Love Lessons, Heidi Cullinan. There is something so sweet and endearing about Kelly and Walter. This book puts a huge smile on my face.

Sexy: Dark Soul – The complete collection, Aleksandr Voinov. Why is this sexy to me? First off, it’s not just sexy, is’t smoking hot sexy. Assassins, okay? Assassins. and Silvio… goodness. If he’s not sexy, I don’t know who is.

Tear-jerker: Rough Canvas, Joey W. Hill. This is one of those books that I can read over and over again and cry like a baby. It makes no difference that I already know what’s going to happen. It’s a story with feelings that pour out of the pages, gutting me and then putting me back together again.

Sweet: BTW I Love You by Nico Jaye or Ten In The Bin by NR Walker. Two sticky sweet awesome stories.

Sexy: Hot Head by Damon Suede or Quid Pro Quo (actually, the entire series!) by LA Witt & Aleksandr Voinov. Caution…extremely H.O.T. and sizzle & steam likely.

Tear-Jerker: Beneath the Stain by Amy Lane. One of my top favorite books of all time and it could easily fit into every category listed. Total win-win.

Sweet: I’m going YA for my sweet stuff…”How to Repair a Mechanical Heart” and “Aristotle & Dante Discover the Secrets of the Universe”. I adored these both.

Sexy: Geez…if I want sexy, I read Mary Calmes or Cardeno C. I love the “Matter of Time” series for what I call ‘bend ’em in half’ sex. I also love Kristen Ashley books for het sexy…

Tear-Jerker:  I think the last time I ugly-cried was while reading was the Gay Amish Romance series by Keira Andrews. But some of my most gut-wrenching tears were while reading “Second Chances” by TA Webb and “Deeper” by Robyn York.

    My recs:
Sweet: Blame it on the Mistletoe by Eli Easton.

Sexy: Hot Head by Damon Suede definitely. If my friend likes it taboo like me, the Twin Ties series by Lynn Kelling. *whispers* twincest!!

Tear-jerker: Out of the Blackness by Carter Quinn. Ugh big fat ugly tears. Or A Red-Tainted Silence by Carolyn Gray. That’s the first book to reduce me to sobbing. A classic for me.

Sweet: definitely something by Mary Calmes or Cardeno C. My favorites would be Steamroller, Frog or Acrobat by Mary Calmes and He Completes Me, Love At First Sight or Until Forever Comes by Cardeno C.

Sexy: I’m gonna go with Cardeno C again – The Half of Us. Or Josephine Myles’ The Hot Floor.

Tear-jerker: Amy Lane, all the way. I have so much of her stuff on the TBR list, but I have to be in the right mood to read it. The Locker Room is probably my all-time favorite of hers.

Sweet: Love Lessons by Jeidi Cullinan. I just re-read it and it was just as touching the second time around.

Sexy: Pretty much anything by KA Mitchell. Let’s go with Collision Course.

Tear-jerker: Aaron by JP Barnaby. It’s a rough one to get through, but so worth it.
